FAQs

The most common questions.

What is Beeline, and how do hotels use it?

Beeline is a distribution channel that makes a hotel's rooms bookable inside AI assistants including ChatGPT and Claude. A guest describes the stay they want, the assistant returns the hotel's live rate and policy, and the reservation completes in the conversation and lands in the hotel's PMS. Beeline operates on the agency model: the hotel is the merchant of record and Beeline is the agent, on 5% commission.

How much commission does Beeline charge hotels?

Beeline charges hotels 5% commission on stayed bookings. There is no setup fee, no monthly fee, no listing fee and no charge for the AI Visibility Report. Cancellations and no-shows carry no commission. The 5% is identical for every hotel connected to Beeline and cannot be bid up or down, because Beeline sells no ranking, placement or premium tier.

Who is the merchant of record on a Beeline booking, and how does the hotel get paid?

The hotel is the merchant of record if they directly contract with Beeline. Beeline sets up a payment account in the hotel's own name during onboarding, and payouts go directly to the hotel's bank account with the hotel's name on the guest's card statement. Hotels that prefer to take payment at the property on their existing terminal can do so, and Beeline invoices the 5% commission monthly against the previous month's check-ins.

Do hotels receive guest data from a Beeline booking?

Beeline shares the guest's name, contact information and other relevant details with hotels right after a booking is made. Hotels can build a direct customer relationship and upsell guests either directly or via Beeline. Beeline’s primary role is that of a connection between an AI assistant and the hotel's inventory.

What are the advantages of working with Beeline over other OTAs?

Beeline is a distribution channel inside AI assistants rather than a consumer booking site. On a contracted hotel the agency model applies: the hotel is the merchant of record, sets its own rate and keeps the guest relationship - none of which an OTA offers as standard. Beeline charges a flat 5% against typical OTA commissions of 15-20%, with no listing fee, no auction and no parity clause.

Can a hotel pay Beeline for better placement in AI assistants?

Beeline sells no paid placement, sponsored listings, ranking auctions or premium tiers. Beeline returns hotels that best match the user’s preferences and requirements. It is important to us to remain focused on delivering the best service for guests rather than maximising revenue. Note that some AI apps sell advertising within their own products, ChatGPT among them, but that is the app's business and separate from Beeline.

Does Beeline require rate parity, exclusivity or a minimum contract term?

Beeline has no rate parity clause, no most-favoured-nation clause and no exclusivity requirement, so hotels price as they choose on any channel and keep every distribution partner they already have. There is no minimum term, no notice period and no exit fee - a hotel can switch Beeline off at any time with nothing to unwind.

Which channel managers and PMSs does Beeline connect to, and how long does onboarding take?

Beeline connects through more than 170 channel managers and property management systems including Mews, Cloudbeds, SiteMinder, Oracle Opera, Guestline and D-Edge. Most hotels go live in two weeks. Signing the agreement takes minutes; the real time goes into mapping room types, rate plans and restrictions so an assistant quotes the right room at the right price with the right policy. Our onboarding team will work proactively with you and get you live quickly.

How do cancellations, no-shows and chargebacks work on a Beeline booking?

The hotel's own cancellation policy applies exactly as written - Beeline does not override, standardise or reinterpret it. Beeline takes no commission on an unpaid cancellation or a no-show. Chargebacks are handled the same way as on any other card payment the hotel takes, because the transaction sits on the hotel's own merchant account rather than Beeline's.
